No Sense Crying Over Spilled Milk

Sun shining through the window. Birds chirping outside. A warm cup of coffee. Fuzzy slippers. A daily devotional or quiet reflection time. There are many great ways to start the morning. And the way you start your morning kind of sets the tone the entire day. At least, I think it does. So imagine my dismay the other morning when I started my routine and poured a big bowl of cereal… then somehow (I still don’t know exactly how it happened), managed to spill it. The entire bowl. Without taking one bite first. And ALL OVER FRISKY I might add.

Yeah. It was like my own personal start to a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Here I am feeling rather chipper for the morning, ready to get started on my day, and there Frisky is, still sleeping soundly in his little bed next to my night stand, when the bowl somehow tips ever so slightly and the entire contents of it goes flying. Frisky yipes and jumps out of his bed, I’m sitting there stunned with a grumbling stomach, and Akiva and Zuka start having a hay day eating the all cereal off the ground and Frisky’s back. That’s right, there were pieces of cereal stuck to the fur on his back. It was ugly folks. Real ugly.

Fortunately, the rest of the day wasn’t SO bad. Jake came to my rescue and helped me clean the colossal mess of my breakfast, Akiva and Zuka were very pleased with their snack, and Frisky forgave me after I finished picking all the pieces out of his fur. (Although I still have to give him a bath, he might not like me so much during that.) We didn’t even have lima beans for dinner. Even though I did spill several more times that day (can I blame it on pregnancy brain??), and not everything went according to plan, there’s always the next day, right?

Or I can just look to my dogs for inspiration. No sense in crying over a bowl of spilled milk cereal.. especially when you get to eat it. Even if it’s off the floor ;)
