Park City Mountain Resort Wedding: Shaylee + Alex

I walked into the hotel room to find Shaylee poised by the window, watching the skiers and snowboarders pass below. Her favorite Pandora station was playing, and the room buzzed with excitement. Because when you’re marrying your best friend, it’s an exciting day. She smiled happily at me and said “It’s a beautiful day for wedding!” The forecast had warned us of rain all week, but the sun was peeking through the clouds, promising a beautiful day to come. She looked out the window again, and the smile never left her face as she continued to get ready.

While I was taking pictures of the two of them, she laughed and told Alex how nervous she had been. Not about getting married. But nervous from the anticipation of seeing each other for the first time that day. Because when you’re marrying your high school sweetheart, there’s definitely anticipation. As we continued with pictures, though, the nerves were replaced with sheer joy. Each minute that passed meant one minute closer to becoming husband and wife.

When the skies did eventually open up during the reception, and the rain foiled our plans to take some sunset photos, she simply shrugged contentedly at Alex and told him it meant good luck. But when you’re marrying love of your life, luck has nothing to do with it. They held hands as the turned to join the party again…

It was a beautiful day for a wedding.

Married: Shaylee & Alex

The finishing touches…

Shaylee, I have no words for how amazing you looked.

Just… stunning.

And Alex? You were looking pretty spiffy as well, if I do say so myself.

Alex and Shaylee agreed to do a first look, and I can’t say enough how much I lovelovelove when a bride and groom do this!

Alex surprised Shaylee with a new wedding ring, and her reaction was priceless.

How great are those smiles?! So happy.

After their first look we headed out to take more pictures around the resort.

These are the faces of two people very excited to be getting married :)

The look on the groom’s face as he sees his bride walking towards him gets me every. single. time. LOVE.

Married!!!

The reception decorations were gorrrrrgeous. Yep, the extra r’s are totally necessary.

First dance as husband and wife…

And then the dance party began!

Congrats Shay and Alex!! SO happy for you guys!
