Park City Maternity Session: Amy + Nick

Happy Monday folks! I’m kicking off this week with some adorable photos of Amy and Nick (and a few of their cute pup Tila), who are expecting their sweet baby girl in just a couple months now! They came up to Park City and we caught some gorrrgeous weather. I absolutely loved how Amy’s coral shirt popped against the green. Also, how amazing does she look in these photos?! She’s 30 weeks people. Yes, I might be slightly jealous of how cute and tiny she is… Just so gorgeous! (Nick, you look alright in the photos too. Haha) Enjoy a few of my faves from this lovely session!

Amy and Nick, thanks for trekking up to Park City and hanging out in front of my camera! It was a pretty good time, if I do say so myself :) You guys are going to be such awesome parents. Can’t wait to meet Olivia!!

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I don’t know about you guys, but I’m quite looking forward to a fun and relaxing evening of games and BBQ with my family! (That is, if my brother and I don’t get too competitive during game time. It’s been known to happen.) Ah yes, the sun is shining, a slight breeze is blowing through the leaves, the air is filled with sounds of laughter as parents grill and children play… It’s a beautiful day to be alive.

And I’m extremely grateful for it. Grateful to the men and women who served and are serving to keep our country safe. Grateful to the spouses and families who have to live with a piece of them missing while their loved one is gone, especially those who won’t be coming back. Grateful to the heroes who have made incredible sacrifices that I can’t even fathom. To all of you that have helped protect our freedom, I thank you.

Special tribute to my cousin, Marine Cpl. Johnathan Benson, who gave his life while serving in Iraq in 2006.

The Bambino Has a Name

It’s been no secret that I’ve thought I was having a boy from the very beginning. And yesterday, I got to find out if I was right! I’m only 18.5 weeks and often they have you wait until 20, but we wanted to find out as soon as we possibly could, and yesterday they said it was time :) After we found out (yes, I do share later in the post, but don’t cheat and scroll to the end! haha), we decided to have our families over that night for a fun little gender reveal! I scoured pinterest for ideas on how to do it, and there are lots of cute ways out there, but I decided that I wanted to do cake pops. I mean, I wouldn’t be me if it didn’t somehow include dessert. Ha. So I made a bunch of cake pops and colored the cake batter, and then when everyone took a bite, they’d see the gender color. It was pretty great!

I’m kind of sporadic and decided THE NIGHT BEFORE that I suddenly wanted to have this super fun reveal party, and then I had a total of about 5 hours the day of to go buy all the supplies get everything ready. So it didn’t turn out exactly how I might have wanted… but thanks to Jake, Jake’s sister Dani, my cousin Alyssa, and my friend Lucy Anne, I think we pulled off a pretty cute little DIY setup on such short notice! Yep, not too shabby. We had the party kind of late at night due to everyone’s schedules, but I took a few pictures this morning of the leftover party table.

Last night there were a LOT more cake pops, but this is what’s left when you have a gender reveal party and the reveal is in the dessert. Haha. Plus they were pretty delicious, if I do say so myself.

We decided to put baby’s initials on the table to for a little preview.

And I love Whole Food’s flowers.

I also thought it would be really fun to have a chalkboard so that everyone could write their guess. Turns out it’s really hard to find a cute little chalkboard on short notice. So I had Jake make one! We used Martha Stewart Chalkboard paint, but apparently it’s supposed to dry for 24 hours before use. Oops. Still worked ok though!

Alright, the moment you’ve all been waiting for!! Gender announcement time :)

Aaaand drum roll please….

IT’S  A

BABY

GIRL!!!

I’ll be totally honest, I was in a bit of shock when the nurse very first said it, and I almost didn’t believe her. I was SO sure it was going to be a boy! But now that I’ve had time for it to really sink in and we have a name for the bump, I could not be more thrilled to be having a little bambina :) Her name is

Natalie Aundrea Uribe

and I am sooo very excited to meet her in October!!!

Oh little Natalie, I already love you so very much. I’ll do my best to wait patiently until you’re ready to come! Just keep doing your thing and grow like a bean stock in there. See you in October.

Heber Barn Engagements: Jacqui + Chris

Jacqui and Chris have been together for six years. It started out with a little hesitation, then turned into a little like. After there was a bit of like, it slowly became a bit of love. And now, after six years of school, moving to different states, different jobs, and all the ups and downs of life, that little bit of love? Safe to say it’s turned into head over heels, no doubt about it, can’t imagine my life without you love.

Jacqui and Lutz have been together for almost sixteen years. Over countless jumps, through many competitions, and tons of days at the barn together, Lutz has been her partner for more than half her life. So Chris knew that when the time came to ask Jacqui to be his wife, he needed to include the other handsome fellow in her life. He got to the barn early on a chilly winter morning with flowers and champagne, tied the ring box to Lutz neck and waited… And that chilly winter morning? Safe to say it’s a morning that neither of them will forget anytime soon.

The morning they decided to become forever.

Engaged: Jacqui & Chris

When these two told me about the proposal and Jacqui mentioned taking some pictures with Lutz for their engagement session, I knew it was going to be awesome!! The day we had scheduled the shoot, it had been absolutely pouring rain all morning. But it seemed to be clearing up in the evening, so we headed out to the barn in hopes of good weather. And boy did we get it! Sure, it was a lot colder than we might have wanted (even though it doesn’t look like it, that wind was COLD). But the light was awesome :) Jacqui and Chris, thanks for such a fun evening together, and for sticking it out in the chilly weather!! I had a blast hanging out with you guys and meeting Lutz. Even though he didn’t always cooperate, I’ll still feed him sugar cubes any time ;) Can’t wait for your wedding in September!!

Wheeler Farm Family Session: The Judkins

When Lauren contacted me about shooting her family after her new little one was born, I was super excited! Lauren and her sister Leah and both of their husbands went to Park City High School, so you could say we all go back a ways :) I remember watching Joey and Spencer play basketball with my brothers, and cheering them on at all the games. It’s so fun to still be in touch with them and see them now with their own families! Leah and Spencer just had little Violet last fall, and now Lauren and Joey have precious Sawyer, such sweet baby girls. We all got together on a gorgeous evening to capture this beautiful time in their lives. Grandma and Grandpa Norris came along too :) Enjoy some favorites of these wonderful families!
