The Bambino Has a Name

It’s been no secret that I’ve thought I was having a boy from the very beginning. And yesterday, I got to find out if I was right! I’m only 18.5 weeks and often they have you wait until 20, but we wanted to find out as soon as we possibly could, and yesterday they said it was time :) After we found out (yes, I do share later in the post, but don’t cheat and scroll to the end! haha), we decided to have our families over that night for a fun little gender reveal! I scoured pinterest for ideas on how to do it, and there are lots of cute ways out there, but I decided that I wanted to do cake pops. I mean, I wouldn’t be me if it didn’t somehow include dessert. Ha. So I made a bunch of cake pops and colored the cake batter, and then when everyone took a bite, they’d see the gender color. It was pretty great!

I’m kind of sporadic and decided THE NIGHT BEFORE that I suddenly wanted to have this super fun reveal party, and then I had a total of about 5 hours the day of to go buy all the supplies get everything ready. So it didn’t turn out exactly how I might have wanted… but thanks to Jake, Jake’s sister Dani, my cousin Alyssa, and my friend Lucy Anne, I think we pulled off a pretty cute little DIY setup on such short notice! Yep, not too shabby. We had the party kind of late at night due to everyone’s schedules, but I took a few pictures this morning of the leftover party table.

Last night there were a LOT more cake pops, but this is what’s left when you have a gender reveal party and the reveal is in the dessert. Haha. Plus they were pretty delicious, if I do say so myself.

We decided to put baby’s initials on the table to for a little preview.

And I love Whole Food’s flowers.

I also thought it would be really fun to have a chalkboard so that everyone could write their guess. Turns out it’s really hard to find a cute little chalkboard on short notice. So I had Jake make one! We used Martha Stewart Chalkboard paint, but apparently it’s supposed to dry for 24 hours before use. Oops. Still worked ok though!

Alright, the moment you’ve all been waiting for!! Gender announcement time :)

Aaaand drum roll please….

IT’S  A

BABY

GIRL!!!

I’ll be totally honest, I was in a bit of shock when the nurse very first said it, and I almost didn’t believe her. I was SO sure it was going to be a boy! But now that I’ve had time for it to really sink in and we have a name for the bump, I could not be more thrilled to be having a little bambina :) Her name is

Natalie Aundrea Uribe

and I am sooo very excited to meet her in October!!!

Oh little Natalie, I already love you so very much. I’ll do my best to wait patiently until you’re ready to come! Just keep doing your thing and grow like a bean stock in there. See you in October.
